ECAT Website Transformed

New website offers total redesign for enhanced navigation

February 20, 2006

(Pensacola, Fla.) - With new route changes on the way, ECAT is taking every measure to ensure a smooth community transition. A large part of this undertaking begins with the website. ECAT announced today the launch of the updated site, which proves riders with important route revision information.

With this launch, riders will have the ability to access all necessary information in a more efficient, comprehensible manner. From ticket prices, identification cards and rider rules, to reconstructed route awareness and news updates - this site covers all the bases.

"We have long recognized the potential for our website to connect us with our extensive customer base while keeping that personal, hometown experience," said Chris Hager, Executive Director for ECAT. "The website has gone through a total usability redesign that will enhance customer service through easier navigation."

With route revisions right around the corner, this website is a vital component for riders. Studies show that 90 percent of people planning an unfamiliar trip and 80 percent of those planning a familiar trip consider access to schedules essential. Riders are looking for readily available and up-to-date information.

Route revisions will take effect on Feb. 26, 2006, and the new site will assist in communicating important information throughout ECAT's "Know How To Go" campaign.

"With this website, we have the opportunity to demonstrate speed and ease of use online, the same qualities we strive to provide onboard," said Nancy Lohr, ECAT Director of Marketing and Customer Services.

ECAT began operation in 1950 and serves Escambia County seven days a week with over 1500 stops daily. Operation includes a fixed route, ADA paratransit, Pensacola Beach and UWF Trolley service.
