1. Getting Started

When you want to use the bus, the first step is to decide where you want to go and when you want to get there. Where do you want to go? Does a bus route serve your destination? Find out by looking at the ECAT System-wide Map. What day will you be traveling?

2. Planning Your Trip

If you need assistance in planning your trip, call our Customer Service. Tell us where you are, where you want to go, and what time you want to be there. We will tell you where to catch the bus, what time you will arrive, and where to get off the bus. Call the ECAT Customer Service Office at 850-595-3228.

3. Go To Your Bus Stop

Once we have given you route and schedule information, go to the location suggested by Customer Service. In most areas serviced by ECAT, you will see our bus stop signs.

4. Identify Your Bus

Customer Service will give you the route number and destination of your bus. The destination signs are located above the windshield of the bus and to the left of the front door. All you do is look for the bus you want to catch.

5. Bus Fare

When you board the bus, please have your cash, pass, ticket, change card, transfer, and if necessary, your identification ready. For more information about ECAT bus passes and tickets click here.

6. Boarding the Bus

At the bus stop, allow 5 minutes before bus schedule time. Stand on the sidewalk away from the curb. Always wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before approaching the bus. Be prepared for delays due to traffic, road construction, or bad weather.

7. Transfers

Your ECAT Transfer will have 2 hours of time. When you board the bus:

  1. Pay your fare.
  2. If needed, request a transfer.
  3. You may use this transfer for the 2-hour time period marked on the back.
  4. When the 2-hour time period expires, you must pay base fare again.

8. Your Destination--Signal the Bus Operator

As the ECAT bus nears your destination, pull the cord located above your head or press the touch strip along the wall. This will signal the bus operator that you want to stop. The bus operator will pull safely to the next bus stop. Wait until bus pulls off before you travel into traffic.
